The ARDK-8MM is a modular system for sample rotation, designed for retrofit to any standard Edwards 1" port, or by way of an optional adapter, any ConFlat or ISO port. The motor mounts vertically on four stainless steel standoffs from the motor base plate. A drive coupling links the motor to the standard Edwards 8mm rotary feed through (other couplings are available for alternative shaft diameters). Moorfield offer two sample plate options: a 280mm x 3mm stainless steel platen with connecting boss for standard glass cylinder systems; a 280mm x 5mm stainless steel platen with quick release connecting boss for MINIBOX and MiniLab 060 systems. The sample to source distance can be adjusted by simply moving the sample boss up or down the rotary feed through shaft, thus allowing the user to trade off deposition rate, sample area and uniformity. Back heating substrate options are available with this design.

The standard European motor accepts 230 vac 50 Hz mains input and speed is variable between 10 and 60 rpm via a console mounted three phase frequency variable controller with front panel on/ off and manual speed knob. Moorfield offer a remote 0-5 vdc control option allowing sample rotation integration into the deposition system control program.
